The area of the body within which a hit is counted as valid.

OBS

In the foil, the target area is restricted to the trunk of the body, front or back, excluding head and arms. In épée, the whole body is the target area, including the arms, head and legs. In sabre, the valid target area comprises all portions of the body, including head and arms, above an imaginary horizontal line drawn across the tops of the thighs.

CONT

As soon as a judge sees a valid or invalid(off target) hit arrive on the fencer whom he is watching...

OBS

An invalid hit is signaled by a white light in sabre fencing. Since there are no off-target areas in épée fencing (the target area including any part of the body), all hits count and no invalid hit can be recorded in this type of fencing.

Extensibility.- The Clareti SD [Storage Director] system is also extensible, meaning that more physical resources can be added as needed.
