In the homogeneous equilibrium model (HEM) one assumes that the velocity, temperature and pressure between the phases or components are equal. 1, record 4, English, - homogeneous%20equilibrium%20model
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 OBS
This assumption is based on the belief that differences in these three potential variables(and chemical potential if chemical reactions are considered) will promote momentum, energy, and mass transfer between the phases rapidly enough so that equilibrium is reached. For example, when one phase is finely dispersed in another phase generating large interfacial area, under certain circumstances this assumption can be made; e. g., bubbly flow of air in water or steam in water at high pressures. The resulting equations resemble those for a pseudo-fluid with mixture properties and an equation of state which links the phases to obtain these mixture thermodynamic properties. Whenever the HEM model is used it is advisable to check the validity of the equilibrium assumptions by using more accurate theoretical models for comparison. For example, rapid acceleration or pressure changes cannot be always accurately modelled with the HEM model; i. e., discharge of flashing vapor-liquid mixtures, or shock wave propagation through a multiphase medium. This is especially true when the pressure change is large when compared to the ambient pressure, or any of the driving potentials are large relative to their reference values. 1, record 4, English, - homogeneous%20equilibrium%20model

Check for can refer to three types of checking : In some instances, an authoring tool will be able to check for accessibility problems automatically. For example, checking for validity or testing whether an image is the only content of a link. In some cases, the tool will be able to suspect or guess that there is a problem, but will need confirmation from the author. For example, in making sure that a sensible reading order is preserved a tool can present a linearized version of a page to the author. In some cases, a tool must rely mostly on the author, and can only ask the author to check. For example, the tool may prompt the author to verify that equivalent alternatives for multimedia are appropriate. This is the minimal standard to be satisfied. Subtle, rather than extensive, prompting is more likely to be effective in encouraging the author to verify accessibility where it cannot be done automatically. 1, record 9, English, - content%20of%20a%20link

1, record 12, English, - suspect

As such, the NCIC can be used to check the validity of ownership of securities offered for sale. For example, a person comes to a broker-dealer and wants to sell 2, 000 shares of IBM. A check of the security and its certificate number through NCIC will determine if that certificate has been reported as stolen or misplaced. 4, record 15, English, - National%20Crime%20Information%20Center
