Downy mildew of grape can be a serious disease in ... vineyards. This fungus disease develops whenever weather during the growing season is moist and temperatures are cool to moderate. The downy mildew fungus attacks leaves, fruit, shoots and tendrils. The disease may cause premature defoliation in mid to late summer that results in a weakening of the plant and reduced sugar content of the fruit. 2, record 6, English, - downy%20mildew%20of%20grape
Record number: 6, Textual support number: 1 OBS
On leaves, young infections appear as very small, greenish-yellow, translucent spots that are difficult to see. With time, the lesions enlarge and a white moldy growth composed of fungus threads(mycelium) and spores form on the undersides of the leaves. If lesions are numerous they may merge and cover most of the leaf. Infected leaves eventually turn brown, become dry and drop. Exposed berries may be scalded by the sun. If vines are defoliated before the ripening period, grapes may not mature normally. 2, record 6, English, - downy%20mildew%20of%20grape

1, record 8, French, - vinification%20en%20blanc

Grape phylloxera, Daktulosphaira vitifoliae(Fitch) is an insect pest which attacks many grape species both wild and cultivated. During feeding, phylloxera secrete a chemical which causes plant tissue to grow near the feeding site, resulting in the characteristic galls. Phylloxera is an indirect pest of grapes, damaging vines by feeding on plant sap from roots, leaves and tendrils, but not causing actual fruit injury. It is often described as an "aphid-like", sucking insect or a "vine louse". 6, record 25, English, - grape%20phylloxera

4, record 25, French, - phyllox%C3%A9ra%20de%20la%20vigne

The life cycle of phylloxera Daktulospaira vitifoliae(Fitch) on the grapevine. The active root stage of the insect is known as the radicole and its feeding results in the formation of nodosity and tuberosity root swellings. Several parthenogenic female radicole generations are produced during the active growth of the vine. Crawlers of the radicole form migrate above and below ground to the roots of other vines.-The overwintering root form is called a hibernant and does not feed.... The egg of the fundatrix hatches into the gallicole female, which forms additional galls and several more parthenogenic generations are produced during the active growth of the vine. The gallicole may migrate to other leaves, or to roots where a new radicole cycle is initiated. 3, record 37, English, - radicicolous

Bungee Jumping first started hundreds of years ago in the South Pacific island of Vanuatu. Young native tribesmen used to leap off huge trees with vines tied to their ankles, as a test of manhood. Contrary to popular belief, modern Bungee Jumping was founded in 1979 from the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol, England. Since then Bungee Jumping has spread to many other countries across the globe, of which America, France, New Zealand and Britain are but a few. 4, record 41, English, - bungee%20jumping

2, record 69, French, - bois%20stri%C3%A9

The modern garden prototype emerged out of a changed conception of what a garden should be .... It is typically small and enclosed by fences or walls, frequently confined to the back of the lot, the front being occupied with garage, guest parking and entry. The entire garden space is divided according to uses and the outdoor areas are connected by doors to the rooms of the house, e.g., kitchen to herbs, vegetables, garbage, and storage, living room to terrace and barbecue. It is used intensively for outdoor recreation, games, sunbathing, swimming, eating and drinking. Privacy is desirable. This garden type seems to represent the ideal for people of all income groups in many parts of the world today. 2, record 72, English, - modern%20garden

2, record 72, French, - jardin%20moderne
