Déformation du nez due à la destruction du cartilage de la cloison nasale : le segment inférieur du nez s'affaisse, subissant un recul, et rentre, s'enchâsse dans le segment supérieur. Elle est caractéristique de la syphilis congénitale, mais se voit également dans la polychondrite atrophiante chronique et dans l'acrocéphalosyndactylie.

Les variétés les plus importantes de déformations du nez dans la syphilis osseuse sont le nez canard où la racine est aplatie, le nez en lorgnette où la partie inférieure du nez télescope dans la partie supérieure, le nez en pied de marmite avec direction oblique en haut en avant des orifices narinaires.

Peut s'observer dans la granulomatose de Wegener et la polychondrite chronique atrophiante.
