In Hinz v. Berry, the distinction between compensable and non-compensable damage was dramatized. It was held that the damage resulting from the shock of witnessing the accident was recoverable, but damages were denied for depression resulting from grief and sorrow for a lost husband, anxiety about the welfare of children injured in the accident, financial stress because of the loss of a breadwinner, and the need for adjusting to a new life. 3, record 2, English, - compensable%20damage

3, record 2, French, - dommage%20indemnisable
