Most musical instrument wood is dried to a 7% to 10% moisture content. However, the wood will forever allow moisture to pass into and out of its structure. Each variety of wood has what is called its equilibrium moisture content(EMC). This is the moisture level at which the wood is at rest naturally at a given atmospheric temperature and humidity. It is not constant. When the air is wetter, there will be moisture absorbed by the wood to a new wetter level, which is not the same amount as the moisture level in the air. 4, record 9, English, - stringed%20instrument%20wood

Regional patterns may change.... Because they still lack confidence in regional scenarios, scientists are uncertain about which areas of the world risk becoming wetter and which drier. But with global water resources already under severe strain from rapid population growth and expanding economic activity, the danger is clear. 1, record 14, English, - global%20water%20resource

La distribution régionale des précipitations peut changer. [...] 1, record 14, French, - ressource%20mondiale%20en%20eau

Many plants occurring in dry regions or in wetter regions on soils of low fertility or high salinity exhibit xeromorphic features including small hard leaves, thick cuticles, sunken stomates, hairiness, rolled leaves and in some cases succulence... Xeromorphism is also seen in alpine plants so it appears to be a response to one or a combination of environmental extremes,... reduced water supply or low fertility or both. 1, record 15, English, - xeromorphism

Use vibrators capable of transmitting vibration to concrete with a frequency of not less than 100 impulses per second. Operate the vibrator around, but not in contact with transverse or longitudinal joint assemblies. Do not cause segregation when vibrating. Do not operate manual vibrators in one place more than 5 seconds. Use vibrators only to consolidate concrete after it has been properly placed. Do not use vibrators to move or spread concrete. Remove and discard segregated concrete, as directed. 1, record 16, English, - segregated

segregation : Segregation The tendency for the coarse aggregate and drier material remains behind and the mortar and wetter material flows ahead. This also occurs in a vertical direction when wet concrete is over vibrated or dropped vertically into the forms, the mortar and wetter material rising to the top. In aggregate, the coarse particles roll-to the outside edges of the stockpile. 2, record 16, English, - segregated

2, record 16, French, - s%C3%A9gr%C3%A9g%C3%A9
