The residue of the endosperm from the production of fine white table flour with low extraction(60-65%). It contains mainly the starchy portion of the endosperm and also some of the more nutritious aleurone layer. Seldom used alone, it is mixed with other offals to give wheat shorts and middlings. 1, record 2, English, - feed%20flour

Ground run of the mill screenings are normally added. Wheat mill run is available in the west, but not normally found in other areas of the country where mill run is separated into bran, middlings and red dog. Wheat mill run may have a crude protein level of 14-17 percent; crude fat, 3-4 percent and crude fibre, 8. 5-9. 5 percent. 2, record 3, English, - wheat%20mill%20run

The by-products may be collected in three different grades known as bran, shorts, and wheat middlings, each having a different chemical analysis and commercial value. Conditions in the market determine the extent to which by-products are segregated and sold separately by a mill. Sometimes the three streams are combined to form a product know as millrun millfeeds. Many Canadian mills are now pelleting millfeeds for easier handling. Essentially all of the milling by-products are used in the production of compounded animal feeds. 1, record 4, English, - compounded%20animal%20feed

1, record 4, French, - aliment%20compos%C3%A9%20du%20b%C3%A9tail

... The middlings purifier, invented in France in 1860, was adapted to use in American mills. This machine, used in conjunction with a more gradual system of reducing wheat endosperm to flour, made it possible to remove many of the branny particles which characterized flours of the day. The purifier, to be explained later, enabled the miller to produce a higher yield of improved flour from wheat. This machine soon became a standard feature in North American mills. 2, record 6, English, - middlings%20purifier

1, record 6, French, - sasseur%20%C3%A0%20semoules
