... flower honey is a white, greenish yellow or brownish coloured thick, transparent liquid obtained from nectars of acacia, sweet and white clovers, alfalfa, rape, buckwheat, etc. Flower honey has a characteristic sweet and highly aromatic flavour which is dependent on the flavour of the substances in the nectar collected by the bees.

Chalkbrood is easily identified by the hard shrunken chalklike mummies that are produced from infected larvae. It can be white, grey or a combination of white and grey. [It] is a fungal disease that affects all honey bee brood. It is caused by Ascosphaera apis. Honey bee larvae ingest the spores of Ascosphaera apis during feeding.

From season to season, established hives will give white/clear to dark amber honey, depending on the flow of flower pollen and the weather.
