Rosé(Roe-zay)-Pink wine, traditionally made not by blending red and white juice(although some inexpensive wines do this), but by using red grapes and removing the skins from the fermenter before they have had time to impart much color. Also sometimes labeled "Vin Gris"(... literally "gray wine") and, among popular, low-cost American pink wines, "blush". Raw sugar is light brown and slightly sticky because the crystals have a thin film of molasses clinging to them. Refining removes this film and produces white crystals of sugar. First the raw sugar is rinsed of its brownish film. Then the crystals are dissolved in water and the liquid is filtered to remove impurities. The sugar is then crystallized, and the crystals are separated from the liquid by centrifuges and dried in hot air. The liquid must be centrifuged several times. Other methods of refining involve the use of milk of lime, carbon dioxide, and repeated boiling. The refined crystals are classified and stored in bins to be packaged or sent to market. 2, record 29, English, - refining

This machine usually consists of two small washing or scouring tanks, drying cylinders, and a straightening gill-box. It is made in several forms, for each type certain constructional advantages or advantages for the material treated being claimed. It is employed either before or after combing to thoroughly clean worsted slivers or "tops, "for not only does the wool become sullied in passing through the several preparing machines, but impurities which cannot be extracted in the scouring bowls have revealed themselves and may here be conveniently got rid of. The process of "blueing" to give a white appearance to the slivers or tops is frequently resorted to, and is usually affected on the backwasher. The latest innovation in this machine is the adoption of hot air drying in place of cylinder drying. 3, record 34, English, - backwasher

How to Make A Hobo Stove. Take a gallon paint can(exact size not important-experiment). Cut holes in sides of can... Throw anything combustible in and light it on fire. The air flows in the bottom hole, and the aerodynamics of the can suck the exhaust out of the top holes. This forms a vicious through draught, and the fire burns almost white hot in a strong wind! It also uses very little fuel. Fire temperature can be controlled by turning can away from the wind a bit, or by obstructing the inlet hole. 1, record 38, English, - hobo%20stove

Starch is supplied as a white, granular powder which is insoluble in cold water because of the polymeric structure and hydrogen bonding between adjacent chains. However, when an aqueous suspension is heated, the water is able to penetrate the granules and causes them to swell, producing a "gelatinized" solution or paste, depending on the concentration. Cooling this hot solution causes thickening, which is called "setback". 1, record 40, English, - setback
