In modern architectural design, the desire for large glass areas in the exterior wall has stimulated the use of prefabricated panels in curtain wall that are simply building skins with no load-bearing characteristics. Extruded aluminum or steel sections(called mullions) similar to I beams are placed over the frame. Between these mullions, windows and spandrel panels of aluminum, structural glass, marble, or precast concrete are attached. Window types other than double-hung will need full-length screens and will be fitted following the same procedures as specified for their storm sash. Though the metal spline that comes with the aluminum screen frame section will work perfectly for the initial installation, it may not work so well if you have to later replace the screening. For replacement purposes, the screening can be secured by using a plastic spline that compresses slightly when installed. ... the effect of weather stripping is similar to insulation in that it reduces the heat loss or heat gain of a structure and also conserves energy. The material most commonly chosen for insulating around windows is injected foam. Injected foam has the advantage of providing good thermal resistance and resistance to the passage of air and water vapour, thus allowing installation in one stage using a single product... However, the foam has to be applied with great care, because the pressure created by overfilling may distort the frame and cause the window to jam or the glass to break. Care must also be taken to ensure that the foam used is compatible with the materials with which it is in contact, such as the window frame and caulking products. 1, record 37, English, - injected%20foam

1, record 37, French, - mousse%20%C3%A0%20injecter

Window types other than double-hung will need full-length screens and will be fitted following the same procedures as specified for their storm sash. Though the metal spline that comes with the aluminum screen frame section will work perfectly for the initial installation, it may not work so well if you have to later replace the screening. For replacement purposes, the screening can be secured by using a plastic spline that compresses slightly when installed. You can use a special tool, an inexpensive roller made for the purpose, to force the spline into the frame channel. 2, record 44, English, - spline%20roller

[Video digitizing cards] All the cards do have a capacity for controlled capture : The card captures a frame; the source device advances to the next frame, which is then digitized; and so on. This type of capturing requires not only a special capture application but also a video-source device with a serial port through which it can be controlled. The advantage of controlled capture is that cards that cannot capture 30 fps in real time, even at 160 X 120 pixels, can capture 30 fps at much larger window sizes with controlled capture, because the card can take as much time as it needs to digitize each frame before moving to the next. 1, record 45, English, - controlled%20capture
