YouthPath was built with the help and direction of 16 Youth Team Leaders, hundreds of volunteers from across Canada and 16 Federal Partners. Human Resources and Skills Development Canada's Youth e-Cluster Secretariat worked in partnership with a number of other Federal Departments to help develop YouthPath.

In 1988, CCDF received from Human Resources Development Canada(then CEIC) funds to partner with universities and colleges to create state-of-the-art methods of career counselling, career education and counsellor training. The initiative, entitled The Creation and Mobilization of Counselling Resources for Youth(CAMCRY), resulted in over 30 new and innovative programs, resources and professional development courses. With the creation phase now fully completed, CCDF is actively working with partners in mobilisation--ensuring that those jurisdictions for whom projects were created know about, have access to and are able to implement these programs and resources.
