Les ciments à l'oxyde de zinc-eugénol étaient habituellement utilisés comme matériau de restauration temporaire à cause de leur effet sédatif sur la pulpe et de l'excellent scellement qu'ils procurent. 1, record 3, French, - ciment%20%C3%A0%20l%27oxyde%20de%20zinc%2Deug%C3%A9nol

Talcum powder is used to reduce irritation of the skin. Talcum powders like face powders contain talc... Chalk, zinc oxide, zinc stearate and a suitable perfume act as the other main constituents of talcum powder. Often specific ingredients like antiseptic and cooling agents are added. The role of the talc is to act as a powder base and to make skin smooth. Chalk absorbs secretion(perspiration) without showing any evidence of such absorption. Zinc oxide masks enlarged pores and minor blemishes, whereas zinc stearate makes powder adhere to skin. Baby talcum powders contain considerable amounts of zinc stearate for adhesiveness and boric acid, for antiseptic purposes. Talcum powders need to be dusted with care to prevent inhalation of the fine particles, which irritate the lungs. 5, record 6, English, - talcum%20powder

Face powder dusted on top of a foundation provides a peach-skin appearance. Many ingredients are needed to provide the characteristics of good powder. Talc helps it slip, or spread easily; chalk or kaolin give it moisture-absorbing qualities; magnesium stearate helps it adhere; zinc oxide and titanium dioxide permit it to cover the skin more thoroughly; and various pigments add colour. 1, record 13, English, - face%20powder
