The purpose of the Airport Watch Program is to detect persons or aircraft involved in the transport of contraband, or involved in terrorist activities. This is done through the RCMP establishing close liaisons with the aviation community similar to Neighbourhood Watch. Learning the indicators of suspicious activity, collecting accurate and specific details of observations and then that information to the Airport Watch Program in a timely manner will go a long way in fortifying the security of our airports, aircraft, and ultimately our community.

Le Programme de surveillance des aéroports a pour but de détecter les individus ou les aéronefs impliqués dans le transport de contrebande à destination et en provenance de la province et du pays ou même dans les actes terroristes. Il fait appel à des coordinateurs qui répertorient les aéroports de la région et travaillent ensuite en étroite collaboration avec leurs propriétaires et directeurs, ainsi que les pilotes, les mécaniciens, lea aéroclubs et autres personnes apparentées à ce domaine. Tout comme la surveillance de quartier, le Programme de surveillance des aéroports repose sur la participation du public.
