[Aldosteronism] is due to overactivity of aldosterone synthase (ADOS) and steroid 11ß-hydroxylase (CYP11B2), coded in human chromosome 8q21.

Alteración metabólica motivada por un aumento de la secreción de aldosterona, bien por una hipertrofia de la zona glomerular de la corteza suprarrenal, bien por un adenoma de esta glándula.

OBS

Los síntomas más importantes son: debilidad muscular, poliuria, polidipsia e hipertensión. Estos síntomas están motivados por la hipopotasemia y la alcalosis.
