Some birds ... simply lay their eggs in the nest of a pair of birds from another species, and leave them to the care of their hosts. This is called brood parasitism.

OBS

L'oiseau parasite ne fait pas de nid, ne couve pas ses œufs et n'élève pas ses petits. Il se contente de pondre dans le nid d'un oiseau d'une autre espèce (l'hôte), et c'est celui-ci qui se charge de l'incubation et du nourrissage.
