Une équipe londonienne du Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children a annoncé, le mercredi 3 avril, avoir traité pour la première fois, en Grande-Bretagne, par thérapie génique un «bébé bulle» de 18 mois, qui souffrait d'un déficit immunitaire combiné sévère (DICS).

OBS

On appelle les enfants atteints du DICS des bébés bulles car, dès leur naissance, ils sont confinés à vivre dans une «bulle» complètement stérile afin de protéger leur système immunitaire gravement déficient.
