The aim of this program of the Canadian Committee for the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations is to find someone who has contributed to world understanding and to relate their story. This person could be someone who has has worked on a project in Canada which has contributed to UN issues on global understanding, for example, cleaned up the environment, participated in a peace march, taken action against racism, organized a clothing/food drive, spoken on conflict resolution and non-violence, promoted health and discouraged use of drugs and alcohol. UN issues include peace, security, education, health, poverty, environment, and manymore. Or it could be someone who has worked on an international cause, either overseas or in Canada (for example, a missionary, a volunteer for CUSO or on an international agriculture project; or has worked for the United Nations (for example, as a peacekeeper, administrator or diplomat). 1, record 1, English, - Canada%20Salutes%20Global%20Citizens

Le but de ce projet du Comité canadien pour le 50e anniversaire des Nations Unies vise à trouver quelqu'un qui a contribué à renforcer la compréhension dans le monde et de nous raconter son histoire.
