Founded in 1951, the Canadian Psychiatric Association is the National Voluntary profession association for psychiatrists. The CPA's approach to the promotion of quality psychiatric care is biopsychosocial multidisciplinary and multisectoral. The association strives to open lines of communication and encourage collaboration both within psychiatry and with other professions, consumer groups, government, and the private sector in advocating for improved mental health services and strategies.
