Record 3 1989-03-31

English

Subject field(s)
  • Toxicology
  • Occupational Health and Safety
DEF

... a long-duration, low-level exposure in which the rate of exposure exceeds the body's capacity for detoxification of the substance.

CONT

Experimental exposure may be acute - that is, an exposure in which the dose is delivered in a single event and absorption is rapid. Although this type of exposure is usually short, an acute exposure may produce chronic effects. In contrast, there is a need to assess effects under chronic exposure conditions in which the dose is delivered at some frequency (daily or weekly usually) over a period of time.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Toxicologie
  • Santé et sécurité au travail
CONT
