The Clément-Cormier Chair in Economic Development was established in 1988 in memory of Reverend Clément Cormier, the founder of the Université de Moncton and its first recteur. Clément Cormier also played a key role in the renaissance of the Acadian society. La Chaire Clément-Cormier en développement économique a été créée en 1988 à la mémoire du révérend père Clément Cormier, fondateur et premier recteur de l'Université de Moncton. Clément Cormier a aussi joué un rôle de premier plan dans la « renaissance » de la société acadienne.
