Une fois qu'une convention collective est signée (entrée en vigueur), il faut mettre en application les dispositions touchant la rémunération (comme les nouveaux taux de rémunération, la création de nouveaux codes de versement ou de retenue, l'instauration d'un nouveau régime). Selon la Loi sur les relations de travail dans la fonction publique (57.1), le délai d'application d'une convention collective est de 90 jours après la date de la signature de la convention collective.
