Consent to death. No person is entitled to consent to have death inflicted on him, and such consent does not affect the criminal responsibility of any person by whom death may be inflicted on the person by whom consent is given.

L'article 14 [du Code criminel] exclut d'une manière absolue le consentement à la mort, et ce, dans tous les cas. [...] Cette disposition parle uniquement du consentement à se voir infliger la mort.

OBS

Ce consentement n'a aucune influence sur la responsabilité pénale de l'auteur. La personne qui, par compassion et pour mettre fin aux souffrances d'un proche, le tue, reste donc coupable de meurtre, même s'il est démontré que la victime voulait la mort et l'avait même priée de la lui donner.
