Les adhésifs monocomposants préaccélérés, principalement à base d'esters des acides acryliques et méthacryliques réagissent à température ambiante avec des durcisseurs apportés séparément (par exemple, péroxydes ou liaisons organométalliques). Pour faciliter l'utilisation, ces durcisseurs sont apportés en solution dans des solvants organiques facilement volatils, peu de temps avant le collage. Il en résulte un démarrage rapide du durcissement qui se développe ensuite plus lentement. Ils sont également utilisés dans le groupe mentionné en premier dans le cas où il n'existe pas de métaux actifs ou lorsqu'un durcissement rapide est désirable.
