Plant comprising a strongly-acid cation exchanger and a weakly-basic anion exchanger. This system consists of an apparatus containing a strongly-acid cation exchanger regenerated with a strong acid; it operates in series with an apparatus containing a weakly-basic anion exchanger. The demineralized water is then either delivered directly to its point of use (if the carbonic acid is not harmful) or is degassed.
