Un graphique E.B.I.T. permet d'analyser l'effet de divers plans de financement sur le bénéfice net par action. Il permet de répondre à la question de savoir s'il est préférable pour le bénéfice net par action de financer un projet d'investissement par l'emprunt ou par une émission d'actions. Ce type d'analyse suggère qu'une firme doit financer ses projets d'investissements par les moyens les moins coûteux, à condition bien sûr que le taux de rentabilité de l'investissement soit supérieur au coût du capital. Ce type d'analyse est très utile mais ne tient pas compte du risque financier.
