The objective of this Environmental Code of Practice on Halons is to protect the ozone layer, through measures to reduce, and eventually eliminate, halon emissions to the atmosphere [and] Code of Practice is intended for halon owners and users. This code is designed to provide direction on managing halon stocks in a manner that takes into consideration the environmental concerns regarding the depletion of the ozone layer.
