La chromatographie d’extraction combine les avantages de l’échange d’ions et de l’extraction par solvants dont elle conserve le principe. L’agent extractant est fixé sur un support inerte, une poudre de Téflon ou de composé minéral disposée comme phase stationnaire dans une colonne. Cette méthode s’est peu développée,peut-être parce que la mise en œuvre de l’extraction liquide/liquide est plus rapide, sans doute aussi parce que les coefficients de distribution sont souvent à l’avantage des échangeurs d’ions et que les phases aqueuses sont polluées par le solvant.
