Panaches horizontaux. Lorsque la température augmente en fonction de l'altitude, l'air est stable et il n'existe aucune turbulence verticale. Le brassage horizontal n'est pas aussi fort que dans les panaches coniques, mais il est toutefois existant. Le panache s'étale donc à l'horizontale, mais peu, sinon aucunement, à la verticale. Comme les vents sont habituellement légers, le panache suit aussi une trajectoire sinueuse à l'horizontale. La concentration des polluants dans les panaches est grande, mais peu d'émissions de sources élevées sont rabattues au sol dans cette situation, sauf lorsque l'inversion est dissipée due à un réchauffement en surface, ou lorsque le terrain monte à la hauteur du panache. Un ciel dégagé, accompagné de vents légers la nuit, favorise l'étalement horizontal des panaches. 3, record 1, French, - panache%20horizontal
