The principal changes were the appointment of an ADAS [Agricultural Development Advisory Service] Management Board which included outside members with business experience and the reorganisation of the different ADAS services. Up to that time, there were four separate services - the Agriculture Service, the Land and Water Service, the Science Service and the SVS [State Veterinary Service]. In November, 1986 it was announced ... that the first three would be re-organised into two new services called the Farm and Countryside Service and the Research and Development Service but no major change was made to the SVS.

Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) is one of the many different modes of high-resolution spatial and temporal analysis of extremely low concentrated biomolecules. In contrast to other fluorescence techniques, the parameter of primary interest is not the emission intensity itself, but rather spontaneous intensity fluctuations caused by the minute deviations of the small system from thermal equilibrium. ... Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy has been developed in the early seventies as a special case of relaxation analysis.

A flight director is a highly sophisticated system that electronically collects the information provided by a number of instruments, feeds this information into a computer and presents it in two visual displays. The two instruments that provide this visual display are a horizontal situation indicator (HSI) and an attitude director indicator (ADI). Usually the flight director installation is combined with an autopilot system. The entire package is then known as a flight control system.

L'ensemble directeur de vol est un système très sophistiqué qui rassemble électroniquement l'information fournie par plusieurs instruments, introduit cette information dans un ordinateur et l'expose sur deux affichages visuels. Les deux instruments qui fournissent l'affichage visuel sont l'indicateur de situation horizontale (HSI) et l'indicateur du directeur d'assiette (ADI). Habituellement, l'ensemble directeur de vol est couplé au système de pilotage automatique. Le groupe complet porte alors le nom de système de contrôle de vol.

En actionnant les diverses gouvernes de l'avion au travers des équipements du système de commande vol, le pilote est capable de diriger et d'orienter son appareil en fonction des besoins ou des phases de vol. Le système de commandes de vol sait dialoguer avec les autres systèmes de l'avion (suivi de terrain, pilote automatique, ...). Les commandes de vol électriques suppriment toute timonerie entre le pilote et les gouvernes, cela permet de piloter des avions naturellement instables, comme le Mirage 2000 et le Rafale, leur conférant ainsi une grande maniabilité.
