"To develop and promote Gananoque and 1000 islands communities through the production and presentation of an excellent quality and family-oriented festival, thereby generating economic benefits for the local economies and improving the quality of life for the communities we serve." The Festival of the Islands is a family oriented celebration with everything from children's programs to top rated Canadian Entertainers. The festival appeals to a cross section of the community, both young and old. In addition, the festival attracts a large number of visitors from neighbouring communities and from outside the region.
