DEF

A form of degeneration in which the tissue involved is converted to a homogeneous or granular acellular mass with bright acidophilic staining reaction resembling that of fibrin.

OBS

Do not confuse with fibrinous degeneration in which there is deposit of fibrin, rather than fibrin-like material, within the cells of the tissue. (cf. DOMED 1981, p. 352).

CONT
