Adaptation of the hydroponic method of growing plants that enables the experimenter to maintain concentrations of nutrient ions in the culture solution at fixed predetermined levels. This is accomplished by continuously renewing or flowing the nutrient solution past the plant.

OBS

The technique permits study of plant growth and nutrition at the ion concentrations found in soils.
