This action plan is based on three fundamental principles: 1) industry has a responsibility for the safety of products it brings onto the market; 2) consumers and health professionals need access to accurate information to make informed decisions; and (3) Government must have the clear authority it requires to address health and safety risks. The Action Plan proposes to enhance Canada's health and safety protection system by: supporting collaboration; strengthening safety programs; and replacing outdated statutes with new regimes. Fundamental to the Action Plan is a focus on active prevention, targeted oversight and rapid response. 1, record 1, English, - Food%20and%20Consumer%20Safety%20Action%20Plan

1, record 1, French, - Plan%20d%27action%20pour%20assurer%20la%20s%C3%A9curit%C3%A9%20des%20produits%20alimentaires%20et%20de%20consommation
