Record 1, Textual support, English
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
cardan's suspension: An arrangement of rings in which a heavy body is mounted so that the body is fixed at one point; generally used in a gyroscope. 7, record 1, English, - gimbal%20mount
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 DEF
gimbal: A mechanical frame that permits an object mounted onto it to remain in a stationary position regardless of the movement of the frame. 11, record 1, English, - gimbal%20mount
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
... inertial platform control implies the continuous orientation of the gimbal system (cluster) to some predetermined reference frame, after an initial alignment. Platform heading can be maintained through signals to the gyroscope torquers originating in the navigation computer. For example, in a north-slaved platform, the gimbal cluster must be rotated in azimuth. 4, record 1, English, - gimbal%20mount
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
In the conventional gimbaled system, the platform contains three single-degree-of-freedom, or two two-degree-of-freedom gyroscopes, three linear accelerometers, and their associated electronics. 4, record 1, English, - gimbal%20mount
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 3 CONT
Inertial navigation system (INS)... Velocity and distance are computed from sensed acceleration. Two accelerometers, gyro stabilized, are mounted in a gimbal assembly, commonly called the platform. One measures acceleration in the north-south direction and the other in the east-west direction. 9, record 1, English, - gimbal%20mount

Record 2, Textual support, English
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 DEF
A mechanical frame for a gyroscope or power unit, usually with two perpendicular axes of rotation. 9, record 2, English, - gimbal
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The gyroscope is a rotor, or spinning wheel, rotating at high speed in a universal mounting, called a gimbal, so its axle can be pointed in any direction. 10, record 2, English, - gimbal
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Mounted in a spacecraft ... an inertia platform provides for the measurement and subsequently, the correction of all the vehicle's movements. The three sets of gimbal mountings allow the three gyroscopes to remain in a fixed plane ... whatever the movements of the rocket. 3, record 2, English, - gimbal
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 3 CONT
The gyroscope is a spinning mass mounted so that it remains on a stationary axis, or rigid in space while the ring holding it turns about it. 11, record 2, English, - gimbal
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 4 CONT
Basically the [inertial] navigation system comprises three components: the platform, the gyroscopic frame, and the computer... The gyroscopic frame is responsible for the stabilization of the platform. Three rate gyroscopes are fitted in the frame with their input axes mutually perpendicular... Tilting and drifting due the Earth's rotational movement are also detected by the gyroscopic frame. 12, record 2, English, - gimbal

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 DEF
12, record 2, French, - cardan
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
13, record 2, French, - cardan
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT
14, record 2, French, - cardan
