HEATSEALER [3 records]

Record 1 2011-05-17

English

Subject field(s)
  • Packaging Machinery and Equipment
DEF

A machine used for the sealing of packages by heat and pressure.

CONT

Although heat sealers differ in design, operation method and source of heat, their essential functions are similar. They all provide heat, pressure and time in sufficient amounts to bond firmly two heat-sealable surfaces.

OBS

It should be noted that the French equivalents “thermoscelleuse”, “scelleuse” and “machine à sceller à chaud” apply only to machines that use coating materials for sealing.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Machines et équipement d'emballage
DEF

Record 2 2010-03-17

English

Subject field(s)
  • Packaging Machinery and Equipment
DEF

A machine used for the sealing of packages by heat and pressure.

OBS

Contrary to their English counterparts, the French terms "soudeuse" and "thermosoudeuse" are used to designate a machine that always effects thermal sealing by joining products with a coating material.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Machines et équipement d'emballage
DEF

Record 3 1993-07-12

English

Subject field(s)
  • Packaging Machinery and Equipment
DEF

... sealers [that] ... provide heat, pressure and time in sufficient amounts to bond firmly two heat-sealable surfaces.

OBS

The use of inductive heat-sealing equipment instead of conductive heat sealing is broadening the applications for foil lidding. Inductive sealing does not heat the lid by direct contact. Heat is brought into the lidding stock by a magnetic field through which the container and lid pass. The magnetic field heats the foil in the lid and an effective, hermetic seal forms between the lid and the container.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Machines et équipement d'emballage
DEF
