The name of the National Secretariat on Homelessness was changed for the Housing and Homelessness Branch (HHB). It is responsible for the National Homelessness Initiative (NHI) and promotes an integrated approach to homelessness and housing policy and programs, as well as the development of horizontal linkages to other policy areas such as health, justice and immigration. The NHI's mandate is to work with Canadian communities to overcome homelessness. The HHB's areas of responsibility include the following programs/initiatives: the Supporting Communities Partnership Initiative (SCPI), the Regional Homelessness Fund (RHF), Urban Aboriginal Homelessness (UAH), the Surplus Federal Real Property for Homelessness Initiative (SFRPHI), the Homeless Individuals and Families Information System (HIFIS) and the National Research Program (NRP). 1, record 1, English, - Housing%20and%20Homelessness%20Branch

Le nom du Secrétariat national pour les sans-abri a été changé pour la Direction générale du logement et des sans abri (DGLSA). Elle est chargée de l'Initiative nationale pour les sans abri (INSA) et fait la promotion d'une approche intégrée aux politiques et aux programmes liés au logement et à l'itinérance, ainsi que de la création de liens horizontaux vers d'autres secteurs stratégiques, comme la santé, la justice et l'immigration. Le mandat de l'INSA est de travailler avec les communautés canadiennes pour vaincre l'itinérance.
