The United States Defense Mapping Agency (DMA) and the Applied Research Laboratories of the University of Texas at Austin (ARL:UT) are jointly developing a Hydrographic Data Recording System. The purpose of this proof-of-concept activity is to exploit and enhance the existing capabilities of U.S. Navy surface ships as platforms of opportunity for data acquisition. The Hydrographic Data Recording System (HDRS) utilises the existing functionality of the ... sonar set and integrates the depth data with GPS [Global Positioning System] time and position tags.

La «Defense Mapping Agency» des États-Unis (DMA) et les Laboratoires de Recherche Appliqué de l'Université de l'Université de Texas à Austin (ARL:UT) élaborent conjointement un Système d'enregistrement de données hydrographiques.
