Un plus grand nombre de fractions de protéines sanguines est détecté lors de l'utilisation d'autres supports pour la recherche en électrophorèse. Par exemple, l'analyse sur gel à base d'amidon permet d'isoler jusqu'à 20 fractions de protéines.
