Internal Audit Directorate is responsible for: Directing the development of leading-edge audit practices to attain the government's priority to strengthen public service governance and accountability; Providing support and guidance to the Deputy Minister, senior Departmental managers and the Departmental Audit and Evaluation Committee on the consistent application of internal audit protocols and corrective actions stemming from audit reports; and Implementing the policy framework for liaison between Health Canada and the Office of the Auditor General and the Office of the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development and providing assessments on audits and reports issued by these two organizations.
