IISD negotiates industrial security MOUs [memoranda of understanding] with foreign nations and ensures compliance so that Canadian and foreign government sensitive information is safeguarded. It provides security approval for contract-related visits to industrial sites by government employees and industry officials to government sites in Canada and abroad. IISD approves the transmission of classified and protected contract-related documents.
