Les termes français «arrêt minute» et «dépose minute» expriment la même réalité que le terme anglais «kiss and ride» mais d'un point de vue différent. En effet, en français, on décrit l'action du point de vue du conducteur de la voiture particulière qui utilise une aire désignée (l'aire d'arrêt minute) pour déposer (ou venir chercher) un usager à une station ou à un arrêt de transport en commun.
