Substance produite par les macrophages et les monocytes, lorsque ceux-ci sont stimulés, soit par les divers agents doués d'un pouvoir d'activation directe des macrophages, soit même par les lymphokines capables de modifier profondément les macrophages. Le facteur d'activation lymphocytaire agit sur les lymphocytes T en stimulant leur prolifération.
