The League of Arab States (LAS) was founded in March 1945 by the Arab States being signatories to its convenient. Based in Cairo, LAS is a regional organization charged with the aims to strengthen bonds among member countries. La ligue des États arabes est née le 22 mars 1945 à Alexandrie. L'Égypte, l'Irak, le Liban, l'Arabie Saoudite, la Syrie, la Transjordanie et le Yémen (Nord) ont porté l'organisation sur les fonts baptismaux.
