There are many kinds of knowledge. Linguistic knowledge is knowledge that lends itself to verbal descriptions. Therefore, "book knowledge" is mostly linguistic. Most expert systems deal exclusively with linguistic knowledge. Contrast with Nonlinguistic Knowledge.
