A long-tenured worker is someone who: has contributed to the EI [employment insurance] program (paid at least 30% of the annual maximum EI premiums) for at least seven out of ten calendar years; has received regular EI benefits for no more than 35 weeks in the last five years; and whose claim started on or after January 25, 2009, but no later than May 29, 2010.
