Un peu oubliées ces dernières années, les poudres font une réapparition fracassante. Aussi bien les poudres libres - celles qui s'appelaient autrefois poudres de riz - que les poudres pressées ou compactes, qui pour devenir solides, subissent des pressions de 300 ou 400 kg. Libres ou pressées, désormais ces poudres ne contiennent plus de riz mais du talc, du kaolin, de l'oxyde de zinc, de magnésium et de titane, tout ça broyé jusqu'à former une substance fine, fine, comme de la farine.
