De très forts sécateurs ont été établis pour un travail à deux mains et le sectionnement de fortes branches, dans le rabattage périodique des haies vives, par exemple. Ces sécateurs, dénommés ébrancheurs (...) sont à deux lames frottantes, toutes deux arquées en bec de perroquet pour bien enserrer les branches à couper. Leurs lames sont prolongées par des manches de force, de 40 à 50 cm de longueur, en bois tourné.
