The core response following the recent loss of Class IV events at Gentilly-2, 1995, and Point Lepreau, 1997, and the most recent LORCA [loss of reactivity control] events at CANDU 6 Cernavoda 1 (January, 2001) and Qinshan (September 2002), have shown significant limitations of current methods to appropriately predict the changes in reactivity.
