Le calendrier lunaire est un calendrier fondé sur le mouvement orbital de la Lune. L'année lunaire compte 12 mois qui ont alternativement 30 et 29 jours (sauf le dernier mois qui peut selon les années compter 29 ou 30 jours). Une année dure donc 354 ou 355 jours, et 33 années grégoriennes correspondent à 34 années lunaires.
