Village de la presqu'île Port-au-Port, sur la côte ouest de Terre-Neuve (position 48°34' N 59°11' W). Seul le nom anglais serait officiel, étant celui qui figure au Répertoire géographique du Canada. Mais selon Larry LeBlanc, Coordonnateur provincial de l'organisme Franco-Jeunesse de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador, Inc., à Stephenville, il est d'adoption relativement récente; chez les gens de la région, qui est à 80% francophone, l'appellation française La Grand' Terre reste à l'honneur. C'est d'ailleurs cette graphie qui serait la plus courante. A noter qu'on la retrouve aussi sur l'édition française de la carte routière de la province publiée en 1988 par le Ministère des Affaires culturelles, du Tourisme et des Ressources historiques de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador. 1, record 1, French, - La%20Grand%27%20Terre
